BJP leaders asked to keep off from courts | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 2: The BJP high command has asked its state leadership not to get directly involved in the petitions being filed in the courts which could create problems for the PDP-BJP alliance. The party has said the leadership should distance itself from taking such recourse as court orders could be of discomfort to the government and BJP should not be seen as a party to it. "The leadership has been directed to distance itself from filing petitions. It can argue its reservations or point of view in the alliance meeting or before the party high command but taking legal recourse and getting directly involved in it sends a message that BJP is using its own leadership to undermine the alliance and this is also gives handle to the opponents and it should be avoided at all costs," said a senior leader. The BJP high command has communicated it after the national general secretary Farooq Khan filed a petition challenging the single bench order on hoisting of the flag. The petition was pleaded in the court by another party leader Sunil Sethi. Sethi chamber was earlier involved when HC had order to ensure that ban on beef is ensured and which triggered a major political storm across the country and strained the alliance. "The PDP can use it against us. It can say that while it also has ideological position but its leadership doesn't file the petitions then why the same is not done by the BJP. It's a strong point and it can't be pushed under the carpet. The state unit must realise that the party has entered into governance with long term plans and it can't allow to go it waste with its assumed heroic acts," said the leader. The party high command is likely to call the state unit leadership to the Delhi soon and discuss the matter with it and issue clear cut instructions, and also on how to weather this developing political storm ahead of the budget session. |
