Pathankot attack punctures Modi's peace gesture | 'Hit back to teach terrorists, Pak a lesson' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 2: Just a few days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi sprung a surprise by visiting Lahore and extended a hand of friendship to the neighboring country, terrorist hit back on Saturday by attacking the Pathankot airbase thus making their intentions clear that for them "war is the only solution." Attack on Pathankot airbase has proved that "terrorists and Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI" are a state within a state and they are not under the control of political leadership of the country. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It's unfortunate that despite us being provoked again and again we don't retaliate. Whenever Pakistani terrorists want they enter into our territory and inflict losses. Today also we lost our three jawans." It's not for the first time that Pakistan has proved that it's not interested in peace. When former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee undertook a bus journey to Lahore Pakistan Army tore apart his peace gesture by orchestrating Kargil. "Terrorists attacking the Pathankot airbase could just be a beginning. There is every possibility about terrorists and Pakistan Army could be planning a bigger offensive," said a defence analyst. He said, "This time around we have strong political leadership at the helm. We should not give terrorists another chance. We can easily identify their hideouts and carry out surgical strikes to teach them a lesson and prevent them from indulging in any other misadventure." A politician said that Prime Minister Modi has already proved his sincerity by visiting Pakistan and extending a hand of friendship but it's unfortunate that just within a few days of him (Modi) showing magnanimity Jaish terrorists crossed the border and challenged our forces in our own land. "Since the day Prime Minister Modi has taken over the reins of the country he has remained firm on his stand that talks and terror cannot go together," the politician added. He said, "If Pakistan wants to prove it's sincerity towards dialogue it should immediately order the arrest of self-styled Jaish commander Moulana Masood Azhar and hand him over to India. People who think that our humility is our weakness need to be dealt with an iron fist and they should be taught a lesson in the language they understand." A retired Army official while talking to Early Times said, "The attack on Pathankot airbase was carried out by the terrorists who enjoy the patronage of Pakistan Army and the ISI. It's not the handiwork of the foreign terrorists. The group behind this attack is based in Pakistan. This much evidence is enough for us to hit back. If we just act as mute spectators this time again it will encourage these elements and would give them a chance to bleed us again." He said that PM Modi is a "strong leader" and it's after a long time that India has got a Prime Minister who can really take bold decisions. "We cannot keep on talking to Pakistan amidst they terrorizing our people and spilling their blood in our own country," the official added. |
