Akhnoor sex scandal: To nab accused politician police detain his servant

Jammu, Jan 2: In the latest development in infamous Akhnoor sex scandal case, police have lifted the servant of the political leader for questioning.
Police intensified arrests of the accused after High Court directed SHO concerned to produce case diaries. Court had also issued summons to DGP of Jammu and Kashmir police over the issue.
Father of the victim had filed a petition before High Court J&K seeking transfer of case to CBI or Crime Branch, Jammu as it is alleged that victim had named about scores of persons who committed rape with her.
"While five persons have been arrested for their involvement in sensational Akhnoor sex-scandal, four accused are continuing to remain underground and a politician, was one of them and to lay hand on him, police have started lifting of their relatives, their kith and kin", a senior police officer said.
The servant (name not disclosed) of the politician was taken into custody as police have opined that he could give a lead to secure the arrest of his employer.
The infamous sex scandal came to fore after the arrest of the Gulshan Kumar alias Abhi, son of Tarseem Lal resident of Dhangu Road Old Sabzi Mandi, Pathankot by Punjab Police with the Akhnoor based girl.
During questioning, the victim girl narrated her story and accordingly Akhnoor police was informed. Akhnoor police during investigation came to know that the girl was sexually exploited by many a persons.
As per police sources, police have made nine persons as culprits and out of whom arrests of five had been secured. They have been identified as Pawan Kumar alias Pappa, son of Balak Ram, resident of W. No. 10 (readymade garment shopkeeper), Amit Mahajan, son of Chaman Lal Gupta, resident of W. No. 7 (utensil shopkeeper), Hardeep Tangotra alias Sahil, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Gandharwan, Tehsil Akhnoor and Anil Magotra, son of Harminder Lal, resident of Manda (mommos seller).
