Jan concerned over supply of contaminated drinking water in Poonch 1/2/2016 11:25:10 PM Early Times Report Poonch, Jan 2: Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan on Saturday expressed serious concern over the supply of contaminated drinking water in parts of the town, saying the public health was in jeopardy due to negligence of the concerned staff. Leading a protest demonstration of the locals of Mohalla Ala Peer, senior National Conference leader Jan said the PHE water supply is unhygienic and dirty. Jan took up the matter with the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, who assured the protesters that the problem will be sorted out on immediate basis. The Provincial Youth National Conference President presented the water sample to the District Development Commissioner and sought its testing from a credible laboratory. He also sought early distribution of solar lights for which the people have already paid. He said the delay has caused numerous problems to the targeted population. Former minister and Provincial Youth National Conference President Jan also took up the matter with the concerned minister who assured to look into it earnestly.
