Parents Teachers meet organized by GCOE

Jammu, Jan 2 : Government College of Education, Jammu organized Parent's -teachers meet on 2nd January, 2016 through colourful cultural event in the college campus.
The program started with welcome of the parents by the NSS volunteers of the college followed by interaction with faculty members of different department of the college. Thereafter a cultural bonanza was presented before them which started with 'Saraswati Vandana' by the college students. Prof Anju Bala, Dean Students Welfare presented formal welcome address.
Prof. (Dr) Kaushal Smotra, Principal of the college through her deliberation, highlighted the achievements of the college and especially appreciated the presence of the parents and their concern who act as an important member in the team of teaching-learning process. Prof. CL Shivgotra, senior faculty member, Department of education, addressed the gathering and briefly oriented them regarding the B.Ed program and the implications of the enhancement of the B.Ed program.
It was followed by address of Senior M.Ed faculty member, Department of Education, Dr Md. Zubair regarding M.Ed program and its importance in academic and profession sphere. Chief Librarian of the college, Dr. Anuradha Seth, shared glimpse about the college library and its utility for the students. She especially emphasized on the technical advent in the library which will benefit the students a lot. Students of the college put up cultural events of songs and poem recitation which mesmerized the gathering. Parents also shared their views and concern and appreciated the initiative taken by the college in putting up the program.
At the end Dr Rajsingh Narania, Senior faculty member, M.Ed Coordinator, Department of Education presented the vote of thanks. Technical assistance for the program was supervised by Dr Piyali Arora. NSS volunteers were coordinated by NSS program officer Prof. Ashu Jolly. Anchoring for the whole program was conducted by student of the college Sukhmeet Kour.
Finally, parents visited the college campus which was coordinated by Prof. BL Thakur, Dept. of Education and Dr Jyoti Parihar, Dept. of Science. The exhibition put up by students of Teaching -Aids and posters prepared by students of Women Development Cell and NSS unit of the college was appreciated by one and all.
