| Police yet to arrest assailants in Akhnoor assault case | | | Jammu, Feb 18: Although over 24 hours have lapsed, Police yet have to arrest the assailants allegedly involved in an assault case which took place last night in city outskirts in Akhnoor.
"The injured has been identified as Rajinder Kumar s/o Chaman Lal Verma of Badayale Chak Akhnoor, police said.
Police said, "A shopkeeper was allegedly assaulted by two miscreants on his head with cricket bat at Akhnoor area last evening."
"The injured identified as Rajinder Kumar was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for medicare, Police added.
Police further said that the victim in his statement alleged that he has been assaulted by Ankush Rajput s/o Swaran Singh and Sohan Singh s/o Jagat singh both residents of Badayale Chak. Quoting injured the police said that the victim was attacked with cricket bat when he was busy at his shop at Badayale Chack. |
