People urge DC to take action against 'corrupt' employees in his office

Kishtwar, Feb 17: A day after Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, removed relief section in charge over corruption charges, more people have come forward with the allegations of corruption against some employees in the DC office.
Official sources alleged that two brothers had dominated the DC office working for the last over two decades and added that despite being transferred several times, they had managed a come back.
While one of them was earlier posted with Tehsildar, Drabshalla, he had managed his attachment with DC office. Later, when he was transferred to Padder, he had again managed his attachment with the DC Office where he now holding an important position.
"If doctors, teachers, masters and other employees including patwaris can be detached by the order of the government, why these officials are still continuing their services in DC office," asked people. They urged DC, Kishtwar, to take stern action against the corrupt officials who were allegedly harassing people for obvious reasons. Yesterday, the DC had removed Tutta Ram, in charge relief section, Kishtwar, for allegedly demanding money from one Ghulam Mohammad Wani, son of Abdullah Wani of Inderwal, for clearing his relief case pending since September 2014 which was submitted by Tehsildar Chatroo in the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar vide Tehslidar Office Chatroo No. 248/TC/OQ Dated 22-09-2014. Early Times has a copy of the unsigned cheque which was allegedly denied to Ghulam Mohammad by Tutta Ram after he allegedly refused to pay him Rs 6,000 as graft, sources said. The unsigned check, bearing No. "32850144" of J&K Bank issued against account No 0031040500002722 for Rs 15,000 bears the name of Ghulam Mohammad. The cheque carried the date February 17, 2016.
Ghulam Mohammad alleged that Tutta Ram had demanded Rs 6000 from him for clearing his relief cheque of Rs 15,000.
