Do Jasoos: Desperate Omar, his aide turn detectives | Who exposed Ram Madhav's secret plot? PDP seeks inquiry | | Hyder Ali Early Times Report srinagar, Feb 18: Former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who is known for his tech-savvy skills has a future even beyond politics, provided he is interested to run 'online detective agency'. It was none other than Omar, who on Wednesday evening, exposed the plot of senior BJP leader Ram Madhav's secret visit to Kashmir for talks with PDP to end deadlock over government formation. The first to break this news was Omar himself who took to his favorite Twitter handle giving media the clue. At around 6:00 PM on Wednesday Omar posted a curious tweet: "Unscheduled flight VTJSG just landed in Srinagar after normal operation hours. Something is cooking with the PDP-BJP government formation." In no time, media got the clue, as to what the tweet meant, and started tracking the development. Within an hour, the news broke: Ram Madhav arrives in Srinagar for talks with PDP. Otherwise, officials said Madhav's visit was supposed to be one of the "tightly kept secrets." Sources in the BJP said Madhav was strategically asked to fly to Kashmir in a private plane only after the normal operation hours at the Srinagar International Airport were over. Sources said it was only after the airport staff including CID personnel from Jammu and Kashmir Police had left the terminal building that Ram Madhav landed in the summer capital. Like a typical Hollywood thriller, Madhav was fully conscious to hide his identity. Covering his face with a shawl, he alighted out of the private plane which had one crew and seating capacity of ten. "Only his eyes were visible as he typed something on his smart phone," the sources said, adding presumably he messaged his having arrived. There was more of secrecy ahead. Instead of getting into a traditional VIP cavalcade, which would be waiting for the visiting dignitary, Madhav boarded into a private car. It was only a mile away at the drop gate that some armored vehicles started escorting this private car: but from a distance. On reaching the Fairview residence of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, the gate opened spontaneously and this private car rushed in. Here again Madhav didn't uncover his face till he entered the main room in the ground floor of the villa, where Mehbooba, her brother Tasaduq and some other leaders were waiting. By the time "secret talks" were going on, Omar Abdullah had tweeted the game plan. This was when all of a sudden, the PDP had to get prepared to talk to media about the unprecedented development. However, as the one hour talks concluded, Madhav who was on a "secret mission" left the place quietly. He rushed to the airport and flew back to New Delhi. But back in Kashmir it was a "breach of secrecy" for PDP. Insiders said the party had planned to host Wazwan dinner for the visiting dignitary but avoided it only to maintain secrecy. "During his visit to condole Mufti's demise Madhav Ji ate nothing, so there was a need to host some good meals but given the secrecy Wazwan was avoided as the presence of Wazas and other helpers could lead to information leak," said the insiders. They said given the break of this secrecy, a former police official turned PDP leader suggested that the matter be picked up with the state government as to how come such confidential information had leaked. But instead of registering any formal complaint over "break of confidential information", a PDP leader who was minister in the previous cabinet phoned his relative, a top police official asking as to how come the secrecy could not be maintained. Source said the police has started "secret investigations." Sources said police is likely to verify if Omar has access to specialized application, which can show movement of airplanes at confidential locations. But, Omar, on the other hand was not the only "detective online". He was assisted by his party spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu. Mattu was first to spice up Omar's tweet. "The Madhav - Mehbooba meeting was planned to be kept a secret. Hence the late evening flight. CID was pulled out from Airport. Alas exposed," Junaid tweeted to Omar. "Crowd of journalists outside the Mufti’s residence as Mehbooba Mufti holds one-on-one talks with Ram Madhav. The real PDP President is in town," Junaid posted in another tweet. Sources said the PDP leadership this morning picked up the matter with the BJP top brass in New Delhi seeking inquiry into the matter. Despite repeated attempts Omar Abdullah could not be contacted for comments. |
