Kathau, Feb 18: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, illegal smuggling of liquor from other States, the J&K Excise Department has intensified raids/ checking of various locations/ premises to check the offences/ crimes being committed.
Under the active supervision of Excise Commissioner, J&K T. Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, Excise Team Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep and ETO, Eradication, Suresh raided the Veersochak and Sunjwan area of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation. More than 525 kilo litres of Lahan and ten pouches of illicit liqour made from a lahan, which is highly hazardous & injurious to health, were also recovered during the raids conducted which were later destroyed by the team on spot. |
