JTC, SKF highlight various issues of KP migrants

Jammu, Feb 18: Jagti Tenement committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) Jagti Nagrota highlighted various issues relating to Kashmiri Pandit Migrant community were discussed in detail and it was said that mostly the Kashmiri Pandit migrant families have got only source of livelihood i.e. the monthly cash relief assistance.
A joint meeting of the Jagti Tenement committee and Soan Kashmir Front was held here today under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president of the Committee. The meeting was attended by the office bearers and members of the committee.
Addressing gathering, Pandita that these migrant families who are dependent upon cash assistance relief having no any other source of income have been facing difficulties in managing their day to day domestic needs besides managing heavy educational expenses of their wards which has adversely affected the educational career of these youth.
He appealed the government for enhancing the cash assistance relief to Rs. 25,000/- Per family per month enabling these migrants to manage their livelihood as well as educational expenses of their wards. He also said that various non Migrants and non state subjects have managed obtaining registration under Relief category under fake and fraudulent Papers who are willing to withdraw provided the Government grants Amenesty this will save the government exchequer from huge loss.
It has further been said that each and every Kashmiri Pandit Migrant family is suffering a loss of approximately Rs. 2.00 lakh every year due to damage to their properties in Kashmir valley as such has demanded one time compensation of Rs. 54.00 lakh to each and every Pandit migrant family to meet the losses suffered by them during Past 27 years of migration.
He stated that since Kashmiri Pandit migrant community has not yet been rehabilitated permanently as such banning issuance of RBA Certificates to those candidates belonging to Reserved Backward areas of Kashmir valley is great injustice and deprival of these deserving incumbents of the benefits under this Category. He has made an appeal to the Governor for ensuring release of issuance of RBA Certificates to eligible deserving youth of the community hailing from Reserved Backward areas of Kashmir valley.
