Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 18: The hunger strike started by Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) employees under the banner of All J&K Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Employees Association today has entered into third consecutive day at protest venue outside Press Club Jammu.
Hunger strike protestors, led by President KGBV Employees Association, Mymoona Khan have started hunger strike to draw attention of concerned official at the helms of affairs towards their long pending demands including regularization on Feb 16.
Addressing the protestors at protest venue, Mymoona Khan alleged that higher authorities of Education Department especially Commissioner Secretary has forced us (female) teachers to come on roads and now to start indefinite hunger strike.
She said that female teachers under the scheme KGBV were appointed on the analogy of ReT i.e. to be regularized after completion of five years of service. President of association, MS Khan said some of our teachers were regularized of batch from 2005 to-2008, but the process of regularization came to a halt since 2013 for no reasons but this has put all KGBV teachers in mental trauma.
Although Commissioner Secretary Education, she said that he had promised that the regularization process would be completed with one month on May, 2015 when the offices were in summer capital of state i.e. in Srinagar. Since then the KGBV has been feeling embittered when the higher official back tracked from words leaving KGBV teachers with no other option to take our agitation path.
Mymoona Khan said that the teachers of KGBV will not let anyone to befool us but the delay in fulfilling clearly indicates that Commissioner Secretary is ignoring out demands.
Speakers further threatened to intensify the agitation till their demands are not met with.
They also said that All J&K KGBV Employees Association is affiliated with Employees Joint Action Committee/ JKTF headed by its president AbduI Qayoom Wani and has a mass support of 4.5 lakh employees of the state and warned authorities not to opt dilly dallying tactics. Protesting KGBV teachers further have appealed to Governor of the State and Advisor to Governor to look into the matter so that their regularization be made at an earliest.
