Dangling wires pose danger | | | Early Times Report
BALAKOTE (POONCH), Feb 18: The live electric wires hanging loosely from the tree branches in Balakote, Langoite and Sangoite villages of Mendhar have put the lives of people in danger. "PDD has failed to erect electric poles and the transmission lines can be seen hanging from tree branches," locals alleged, saying some of the wires were dangling very low and were a threat to the lives of passersby. Though crores of rupees were being spent on the upgradation of the power system in the district, it was astonishing to find that the wooden poles had yet not been replaced with cemented poles, they said. Repeated requests made to PDD officials to repair the wires broken at some places had so far fallen on deaf ears, they said. |
