JKAEWU highlights issues of employees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 18: In order to highlights grave issues being faced by the employees working in Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation on account of non-settlement of their pension cases at Acountant General's office from 2012, a press conference was held today wherein it was pointed out that the Accountant General, J&K returned pension cases with the remarks that the employees who have been recruited in the JKSPDC after the date of its formation shall not be treated as the State Government Employees transferred/deputed to the JKSPDC for the purposes of pensionery benefits. The Union said that JKSPDC has snot framed its own statutory rules even after its formation in 1995 till date and the employees working in JKSPDC are still governed by the State Service Rules and pensionery benefits of employees working since 1989 till date is among one of the benefits and all financial transctions were regulated by the Govt treasuries included deduction of GPF. They demanded modification of sorder of 1989 issued by Addl. Secretary to Govt., PDD vide No: 49-PDD of 1989 Dated 7-3-1989 under Cabinet decision No: 28 dated 28-2-1989 by the Commissioner Secretary, Power and DG Codes and Finance. Board of Directors of JKSPDC needs to be established to redress the issue regarding regularization of daily rated/need-based/casual labourers working in JKSPDC since 15 to 20 years. The Union further said that it has submitted a memorandum to Governor and concerned officers for immediate restoration of pension benefits in favour of retirees as well as existing employees. They reiterated their demands urging upon the authorities to take serious note of their genuine difficulties otherwise the employees of both regions of J&K will have no option but to come on roads to fight tooth and nail against anti-employees policies which may even put negative impact on Power Houses and in case of any untoward happendings, all the responsibility shall on the shoulders of authorities. |
