| HEMS celebrates its annual day with great fanfare | | | Rajouri, Feb 18 : Himalayan Education Mission Society (HEMS) Rajouri a pioneer in School and Higher Education in J&K catering to the need of qualitative education across the peer Panchal region celebrated 36th Annual Day of Himalayan School Rajouri and 12th Annual Day of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri with great traditional fervour.
The Programme was chaired by Kuldeep Raj Gupta former MoS and Vice-Chairman Sate Pahari Advisory Board whereas Prof Shabbir Hussain Shah Principal PG College Rajouri, Prof Mushtaq Ahmed Lone Principal GDC Surankote and Prof Javed Qazi Principal GDC Mendhar jointly presided over the function. A colourful, thematic and spectacular cultural programme was presented by the students of host institutions.
In his presidential address the chief guest Kuldeep Raj Gupta former MoS and Vice-Chairman Sate Pahari Advisory Board lauded the role of the Himalayan Education Mission for emancipation and enlightenment of the rustic lot of the backward border hilly region. He also congratulated the management and faculty for introducing a environment of hard work and discipline with utmost sincerity, besides imparting qualitatively standardized education with state of art infrastructure. Lauding the initiative from the founder of institution, chief guest said, founder of institution has a vision which proved a bacon torch to the younger generation.
During the proceedings of function awards in both academic and extra-curricular activities were presented to the students for their excellence performances during the last session. Zohieb-ul-Haq , Usma Manzoor, Anaya Isher and Rifat Nazar Manhas in School Category while Imtiaz Nazir, Allia Iqbal, Zaffar ul Haq and Ashia Ashraf in College Category were awarded for their outsstanding performances. Apart from this over one hundred and thirty one students were presented medals, citations and mementoes for their academic and extracurricular activities.
Meantime Abdul Qayoom Dar Distt Chairman Wakf Rajouri and Mohd Sadik were awarded Romesh Chander Himalayan Social Work Award and Himalayan Outstanding Services Award respectively.
Earlier annual report was presented by Allia Iqbal while Nadia Sheikh, Shaista Hameed, Mehreen Bhatt, Tanveer Ahmed, Zoya Shabir and Sobia Lone conducted the proceeding of occasion. |
