JAMMU, Mar 3 : Vivekanand House clinched the title trophy of Inter-house (hostel boys) Twenty 20 Cricket Tournament of GGM Science College after the side outplayed Ashoka House by 20 runs in the final played at Hostel ground, here today. Batting first, after winning the toss, Vivekanand House made 165 runs. Rajesh Chauhan remained top scorer with 18-ball 22 runs while Anuj contributed 21 off 18 deliveries. In reply, Ashoka House could make 140 runs to lose the game by a margin of 25 runs. Dheeraj and Abhishek Bhau contributed 25 and 26 runs respectively. From Vivekanand House, Kamal Singh took three important wickets to help his side restrict the opponent. For his outstanding performance, Rajesh Chauhan was declared man of the match while best batsman trophy went to Vivek Singh Rathore. Kamal singh was adjudged best bowler and the man of the series title went to Krishan Kant with 94 runs and three wickets. Arpan and Vipan were umpires in today's match. In the final and valedictory function, Director General Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jahangir Mir was chief guest, who along with guest of honour, Principal of the host GGM Science College, Prof Ajeet Angral gave away the title trophy and other individual prizes. The event held under the overall guidance of Physical Director of the College, Dr Vinod Bakshi. Other members of the organising committee included Prof Ashok Kumar, Prof Rajinder Singh, Prof Neeraj Sharma, (staff secretary) Prof. Mohd. Sadiq , Prof Dinesh Jasrotia and Prof Kuldeep Raj. |
