Primary School Watina in Lohidar closed for want of teachers | | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Mar 3: The education department in Kishtwar District allowed only teacher posted at Primary School Watina in Lohidar area of Tehsil Mughal Maidan falling in Education Zone Inderwal (Chhatroo) to pursue D.Ed course from National Open Schooling as a result of which the said school had to be closed down for want of teachers. As per the details available with "Early Times", the school was closed since last three days as no teacher was available to teach the students. A class fourth employee posted in the school informed the parents not to send their wards to school as no teacher was available. He said that the department neither posted any substitute teacher in the school after selection of Sandeep Kumar as regular teacher nor make any replacement while allowing Jai Prakash for pursuing further education despite the fact that department is well aware that school had 41 students enrolled, that too belonged from poor families and urged upon District Administration to look into the matter and appoint teachers in the school so that poor students studying in this school could not suffer on account of their studies. When the matter was brought into the notice of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan , he took up the matter with Deputy Chief Education Officer Kishtwar who confirmed that the school has no teacher to teach the students. After going through the reality check, DC Kishtwar orderered for making immediate alternative and directed them to post the teachers in the said school so that poor students could not suffer on account of education. "I have directed education department to make immediate alternative arrangements of teachers for Primary School Watina and has been asked to submit the compliance report by tomorrow" said DC Kishtwar and assured that the matter will be looked on top provide. |
