Court takes cognizance of complaints of misappropriation in Rajput Sabha | Restrains president from exercising financial powers | | Abodh Sharma Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 3: A competent Court has restrained Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha and its 'alleged' president Narayan Singh from carrying out any commercial or financial transaction or exercise any financial powers in contravention of Niyamavali (set of rules) of the Sabha. They have also been restrained from creating any third party interest in the properties belonging to the Sabha. The direction of the Court has come in a petition filed by Pawan Singh Manhas, son of Lt. Bhim Singh and Anil Dev Singh, son of Lt Ram Singh, who sought permanent prohibitory injunction against the respondents raising serious allegations of impropriety, violations of Niyamavali, which is the constitution of the Rajput Sabha and misappropriation of funds and properties belonging the Sabha. The petitioners have also alleged that the respondent, Narayan Singh, alleged president had demolished centuries old temple of the community that existed inside the complex of Rajput Sabha and hurt the religious sentiments of thousands of Rajputs who held their reverence in the temple. The petitioners also alleged that after illegally commercializing the property of the Sabha and siphoning off huge money in connivance with some shady elements , the respondent now has his eyes on Thakkar Sabha situated at Palace road and has evil designs to commercialize it using the same modus operandi. The complainants have further prayed in their complaint that Narayan Singh is not an elected president of the Sabha that he claims to be, and his operations in this capacity as president are against the constitution of the Amar Khatriya Rajput Sabha. ET however learnt that Narayan Singh was elected as president of the Sabha on 21.12.2003 for a term of 3 years according to the Niyamavali, but no elections were held to elect new office bearers thereafter. Pawan Singh Manhas, one of the complainants alleged that the erring president had commercialized entire Sabha at Purnai Mandi according to his own whims and fancies and had illegally made huge fortunes out of these transactions. "We have records to show that the commercial shops, and huge stores were constructed and sold off at market rates, but registries of these properties were hugely undervalued and the money was siphoned off. It is shocking that the president claims that all these properties were sold for only Rs. 2 cr, and that too he claims to have spent on the renovation of the Sabha" Pawan said. He also alleged that he now had his eyes on Thakkar Sabha and has got the nefarious plans ready for execution. Anil Dev Singh, the other complainant demanded that an ad hoc body of eminent persons of Rajput Community be constituted to take over the affairs of the Sabha as this president has no locus to continue in office. "We want a thorough inquiry into the financial transaction of the Sabha during last 15 years to bring out the truth" he added calling upon the Rajput community to raise their voice against the illegalities of Narayan Singh. |
