NMC urges upon union govt, to implementation 7th pay commission | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 3 : President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the union Finance Minister to clarify in no uncertain items the stand of the Central Govt. vis-a-vis the implementation of 7th pay commission, so that ambiguity regarding the same is put to rest. Addressing a largely attended NMC activists rally at Gandhi Nagar, Shastri expressed surprise over the fact that when recommendations of the 7th pay commission have been finalized and provision of nearly Rs. 1.20 crore budgetary provisions made as a precursor to budget proposals,why did the Finance Minister chose to ignore this vital aspect in his budget speech the other day? Shastri urged Arun Jaitely to come up with the announcement in the current session of the parliament itself and remove the confusion and uncertainty among the Central as well as state governments employees and pensioners regarding the implementation of 7th pay commission. While terming the overall budget as a developmental one and promoting growths, Shastri also expressed dismay over the un-changed tax slabs in respect of government employees who are the single most segment of honest tax payers population. Having no tax relief to this category adding that suitably amend the budget proposals and revise the tax slab to 4.00 lacs standard deductions, he added. Stressing on the need for increasing the retirement age of Jammu Co-Operative Wholesale Ltd. employees from 58 to 60 at per with State Government Employees, Shastri urged Governor N.N. Vohra to intervene personally and issue necessary directions to the concern authorities for stickly implement the said order. |
