Jammu, Apr 8: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organised a four day exposure cum training visit for farmers to ISAP, Amritsar. A group of twenty five progressive farmers representing different Farmers Clubs from district Samba attended this programme. The visit was arranged by the District Development Office of NABARD, Samba. Surinder Singh, DDM, NABARD apprised that technological upgradation and innovation have been the hall mark of Indian agriculture and NABARD has been in the forefront in facilitating and adoption of this new technology by farmers/ entrepreneurs. During the exposure cum training visit farmers visited various innovative agriculture projects and had interactive sessions with experts from the field of agriculture. They learnt about hi-tech dairy & breeding techniques, production of high value crops under poly house, floriculture farming, vermi compost & organic production, seed production techniques, post harvest technology etc. The response from the farmers was over whelming and felt motivated to adopt these latest technologies in their fields. |
