Mehbooba likely to make amendments in New Job Policy
Expresses concern over its partial implementation, seeks details

Srinagar, Apr 8: The new dispensation in the state led by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is amending the New Recruitment Policy 2015 wherein the newly recruited people were ought to work for five years on meagre salary.
Sources within the government divulged that the chief minister has sought the details about the new recruitment policy that was introduced in the state in 2015 amid much furore.
There was much disgruntlement witnessed after the government threw it in the public domain.
The experts at that time had cautioned the helmsmen that the policy in itself has flaws for all types of services especially for gazetted services. It was stated that time that for gazetted services especially in education sector has dashed to ground the very spirit of utilising best talent in education.
As per the policy those who have done research degrees (doctorate and post-doctorate) are being victimised.
However, sources said that a sigh of relief for the job aspirants in the state would be in the offing as Mehbooba is all set to make necessary amendments into the policy and make it more youth friendly and beneficial for the job seekers
Sources said that the KAS was kept out from the new job policy but those youth who want to pursue their careers in the education sector as lecturers, professors and teachers had to abide the new rule. "The government has taken a serious note of this flaw and it would take measures so that the policy would not remain partial," said an official.
There was concern expressed about this policy earlier as well that the talented youth in the state will prefer administrative services more than academics, which would not be in the interest of the state.
According to the policy, even the candidate having doctorate gets appointed as assistant professor or lecturer, he/ she has to work for five years on meagre honorarium which is below the pay of class-IV employees and has to serve in Zone-III area of the state.
The Chief Minister's office has also sought details about why the posts of Medical Officers in Health Department recently advertised have been kept out of purview of the new job policy and those with the NET/SET and PhD had to abide by the norms of the recruitment policy.
The chief minister's office, as per sources, has expressed concern over such a partial approach looming large in the state.
According to the policy neither doctors, nor KAS or KJS officers but only lecturers have been victimised.
There has already been an alarm raised that this policy will surely ruin the career of the aspirants who want to serve education department in the capacity of gazetted services."In the days to come, you will see some positive development coming to fore.
The new job policy needs rectification as there is a notion that it was drafted in haste. Whatever required is to be done will be ensured in due course of time. The chief minister herself is monitoring it," top official sources said.
