Rain lashes Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 8 : Life was thrown out of gear this evening due to heavy rain. People woke up to a sunny morning and the weather remained pleasant during the day when the maximum temperature was 19 degrees considered normal during this time of the spring time. As people were returning to their homes, heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorm lashed the city, disrupting pedestrian and traffic movement. People had to take shelter in shops and other sheds. Many roads were submerged in the city, where majority roads are damaged.

Dish TV service was also affected in many areas for sometime. A Met spokesman said this evening that there could be rain or thundershowers and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 14 and 8 degrees respectively during the next 24 hours.
