Early Times Report RAMBAN, Apr 8: A cheque of Rs.103900 under the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) was distributed by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Neelam Langeh to each of the 16 land slide hit victims of Tringla,Batote, today. On the occasion Tehsildar and Naib-Tehsildar of Batote,Srinath Suman and Saifullah Shah respectively were also present on the occasion. Reportedly, 17 houses were fully damaged and 4 were partially thereby dislocating 23 families in total in a landslide at Ward No.2 in Tringla Batote on March 19 due to the torrential rain on the intervening night of March 18 and 19. Aziz Din whose house was also rendered unfit to live has not been given any relief in cash yet due to the incomplete official formalities. MLA informed that on the recommendations of the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban,Bashir Ahmed Dar a rent of Rs.3,000 per month for three months has also been sanctioned in favour of 21 of these 23 dislocated families. The families of Nirmal Kour and Shamim Begum are residing at Jammu. Speaking on the occasion he urged the government to allot a plot of 10 marla land in favour of each of the families whose houses have been fully damaged. Naib-Tehsildar informed that the house of Nirmal Kour, Abdul Latief, Mohammad Rafiq, Shamim Begum, Faja Begum, Mohan Lal and Aziz Din being on the verge of total collapse have also been vacated. |
