Jammu, Apr 8: 3rd additional sessions judge, Jammu, Kishore Kumar has rejected the bail application of Surinder Kumar alias Babby Kumar of Sidhra Bye-Pass, who was arrested by police in an alleged case of kidnapping and rape of a college girl.
The case was registered against the accused under sections 366 and 109 of RPC after one Kaneez Begum lodged a written complaint with the concerned police post, stating therein that her daughter, a student of B N College, Sunjwan, left for college at about 8.30 am on March 8, 2016, but did not return home.
While searching for the girl, it became known that Suridner along with Kasturil Lal, Arjun Kumar, Rehali and Sonia had kidnapped her and taken to some unknown place.
Police later arrested the accused and recovered the girl from his possession. The accused was then handed over to Trikuta Nagar police station. The statement of the girl was also recorded by police under section 164 A of CrPC. During investigation, it was prima facie proved that the girl was kidnapped and raped by Surinder.
After hearing the two sides, the court observed that the petitioner's counsel had no force in his arguments in view of the gravity of the offence.
With these observations, the court rejected his bail application. (JNF)
