KP Sabha hails Home Ministry's initiative of townships for KPs in valley

Jammu, May 7: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) Jammu today welcomed the latest initiative of the Home Minister in writing to the state government t to identify and appropriate about 16800 Kanals of land for creation of three townships for the safe and respectable resettlement of the displaced KP Community.
In a meeting held in Sabha premises under the Chairmanship of its President K K Khosa, the present members welcomed the latest initiative of the Home Minister in writing to the state Govt to identify and Appropriate about 16800 Kanals of land for creation of three townships for the safe and respectable resettlement of the displaced KP Community.
The Sabha urged the state and the Central Govt to finally take this exercise to its logical conclusion and not leave or abandon due to pressure from destabilizing forces within and outside the valley.
"The Govt should not take the threats from Hurriyat seriously which are meaningless and hollow. Even MLA Engineer Rashid Should be handled firmly and if need be kept behind bars for opposing any kind of return of the Pandits, the members underlined.
"The agenda of alliance of the present Govt. needs to be implemented in letter and spirit and in a fixed time frame, they added, adding, "it will also help in sending strong signals to the International Community that it is the writ of the GOI which runs large in the state of J&K. they also urged that the work on the construction of accommodation for the PM package employees should be completed expeditiously in order to mitigate suffering of exiled community particularly youth from community and recruitment process for the remainder of the 6000 posts needs to be expedited to serve as a plausible confidence building measure.
S L Bagati, B L Tikoo, Ashok Kher, Subash Dhar, Dr Usha Tickoo, Dr Ashok Koul, R L Koul, Shama Handoo and other executive members also were present in this meeting.
