Teacher beats toddler for not solving question Unholy education at Barakh 6/4/2016 11:55:15 PM A B Sharma Early Times Report Reasi, June 4: Unholy have become the ways of education---the Guru-Shishya parampara. It is just on the parable, but a reality show that happened in a Middle School Barakh, Pouni in Reasi district. A third standard girl named Shaina daughter of Nissar Ahmed, Middle School Pouni was timely saved by the intervention of the other students of the school when she was being beaten black and blue by the ReT teacher Surinder Kour on the pretext that the child was not able to answer couple of questions put in by the teacher. Surinder Kour, the teacher had given some questions to Shaina to be solved, and unable to solve the questions, the little girl was taken to task by the teacher who brought in a cane stick and started beating the girl mercilessly. It was only when the little girl fell unconscious, the other students came to her rescue and saved the girl from the dreadful clutches of the teacher. Later a strong protest was lodged with the school authorities by the parents and relatives of the child who were joined by other people also. The Chief Education Officer Reasi and Zonal Education Officer Pouni reached the spot and tried to manipulate the things by issuing a verbal dismissal for the teacher which turned out to be a mere an eyewash. Though a FIR was also lodged with Barakh police station, but still no action has been initiated against the erring teacher. The residents of Barakh were of strong opinion that both the families of the teacher Surinder Kour and parents of Shaina were on loggerheads over some issue that made the teacher Surinder Kour to take the revenge while taking the little girl to the task. The entire Reasi district has risen in revolt against the erring teacher and has demanded the permanent dismissal of her. Though the authorities which include state administration as well as the police is trying to cover up the incident under the wrap, the people of the Barakh have demanded from the government to initiate strong measure against the school authorities as well as the teacher Surinder Kour.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
