SHO directs complainant, eve-teaser to patch up in lieu of Rs 2,000 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: Instead of booking an eve-teaser, who was alleged to have molested a girl, the SHO of a peripheral police station allegedly directed the victim's brother to patch up with the accused. For the patch, the SHO was allegedly paid a bribe of Rs 2,000 by the accused, police sources said. Sources said a youth yesterday lodged a written complaint at the police station, alleging therein that a youth had 'molested' his sister. He alleged that the accused was also harassing his sister on telephone. Acting on the complaint, the SHO called the girl's brother and the accused to the police station where he forced. Sources said at the police station, the SHO directed both of them to patch up. He did not book the accused because he had already taken a bribe of Rs 2,000 from him, sources alleged. The SHO was earlier caught in a controversy for his alleged involvement in a land dispute. He was alleged to be enjoying the blessings of an ex-minister and an ex-MLA. |
