AKHNOOR, June 13: Singh Cricket Club clinched the title trophy in Twenty20 cricket tournament beating Vijayanta Cricket Club Akhnoor by nine wickets in the final played at Government Degree College ground, here today. Earlier, batting first, Singh Club set a target of 162 runs for nine wickets. Rahul Mani and Chandan Sharma played fine innings of 34 and 27 runs respectively while Sonu contributed 25. From Vijayanta, Amit claimed three wickets while Jagdish and Pankaj shared apiece each. In reply, Vijayanta Club could make 152 runs in 20 overs losing nine wickets. Govil and Amit remained top scorers with 45 and 26 runs in their respective accounts. From Singh Club, Sny Mahi claimed four wickets, followed by Rajinder Sharma, who made hat trick. Sham Singh bagged two wickets. Sny Mahi was named man of the match while Govil was adjudged man of the series. The final was officiated by Ashu Magotra and Madan Lal as umpires while Kannu was scorer. In the final, SDM Akhnoor, Sunaina Sharma was chief guest, who gave away the winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes. Among others present were Vidya Sagar , Amarjeet Singh , Deepak Mani and Joginder Magotra. |
