Tehsildar, BDO, TSO suspended | MLA Khour in BPL list | |
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13: Ever since the process of enlisting the people under National Food Safety Act (NFSA) began, one error after another has cropped up while entering data of the card holders, however, the private agency engaged for the purpose, it seems, doesn't bother to cross check the details being entered. The private agency which is punching the details made a big blunder when it erroneously incorporated MLA Khour, Krishan Lal Bhagat's name under Below Poverty Line (BPL) category but in a very bizarre move, the Divisional administration has made Tehsildar, Block Development Officer (BDO) and Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) as scapegoats and let the real culprit off. If sources are to be believed in Khour Block, total 34000 forms were submitted by the NFSA committee for processing and punching of the data but surprisingly out of the total 34000 forms, 3400 were missing and 18000 forms were kept out for correction details. "The onus of committees of NFSA at block was only to collect the forms filled by the card holders and later submit it to the private agency", said a source; adding that the committee has nothing to do with the data of the card holders as they were only collection agents. Without ascertaining who has done the fraud, the divisional administration ordered suspension of Tehsildar, BDO and TSO and made them guilty in a hurried action. Astonishingly, the divisional administration suspended three officials without initiating inquiry and without even finding the fact that the TSO had only joined his duty in Khour block in the month of March when all the NFSA work was already completed. Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal when contacted by Early Times stated that the Deputy Commissioner is finding facts in this regard and if any fault of the private agency came to light, action would be initiated against them. He further said that if fault of suspended employees would not be established then they would be reinstated. |
