Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13: The crime branch (CB) has booked three persons, including a clerk in education department and a woman, for duping a man in the name of managing a job for him in a foreign country. In a written complaint lodged with IGP, CID, Shafiq Ahmed, son of Mohammad Nazir of Kapakha, Rajouri, alleged that education department clerk Shabir Malik, son of Abdul Rashid, Tariq Malik, son of Mohammad Riaz of Darhal, and Rashida Khan, wife of Riaz Khan of Malad, East Mumbai, had taken from him Rs 1.50 lakh along with his passport with the assurance that they would arrange visa for sending him abroad for employment, but they provided a tourist visa of Malaysia, which he denied and demanded his money and passport back, but the accused plainly refused to do so and allegedly threatened him of dire circumstances. During the preliminary verification, CB found that Shabir, who was working as an accounts clerk in DIET, Rajouri, had allured the complainant on the pretext that he could manage a foreign visa for him through Rashida Khan and in turn obtained Rs 1.50 lakh from him. Thereafter, he sent the complainant along with Tariq Malik to Mumbai to meet accused Rashida where some money was offered to her and after about one and a half month, a tourist visa for Malaysia was provided to the complainant which he denied. It was also revealed that the accused in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy had allured the complainant on false pretexts and thereafter duped him of his hard earned money and misappropriated the same through fraudulent means. The CB has booked all the accused under sections 420, 406 and 120-B of RPC. Shabir is at present posted at Kheora, DIET.
