Early Times Report JAMMU, June 13: Police investigation in the alleged murder of a man at Sarora near here has so far failed to make any 'headway' despite the fact that the victim's son had brought the matter to the notice of a 'senior' police officer and also submitted him a written complaint. Des Raj, son of Lal Chand of Sarora, was allegedly murdered by three persons of the village over a land dispute on July 11, 2015, but the concerned police were yet to even pick up the accused for questioning, victim's son Parshotam Singh alleged. In his complaint made to the 'senior' cop on November 23, 2015, Parshotam has named all the accused, including two real brothers. He alleged that on July 11, 2015, an accomplice of the two accused brothers came to their house at about 7.30 pm and took his father with him. "He was seen taking my father with him by my wife Monika Devi. At 9 pm, he came to our house in an inebriated condition and asked her to search for her father-in-law," he claimed. "The next day, we recovered the body from a nullah, nearly half a kilometer from our residence. It bore injury marks, indicating that it was a clear case of murder," he said. Parshotam alleged that when Domana police took almost no interest in the case, he submitted a written complaint to the 'senior' cop on November 23, 2015 and was surprised to note that even it made no impact on the police investigation. He has again appealed to the police headquarters to intervene in the matter and help them get justice. Des Raj was not having good relations with the accused because of a land dispute with them. On March 14, 2012, he was allegedly given a sound beating by them. On April 18, 2012, Des Raj had submitted a written complaint to then senior police officer of Jammu region, alleging therein that the two real brothers and their three accomplices had set ablaze his cowshed which he had constructed on his land in the village. In his complaint, he had also apprehended a threat to his life from the accused. "Irony is that despite all this, police were not moved at all," Parshotam alleged. He had also lodged a written complaint with then Domana police station head in this regard, but he too had taken no action against the accused, he alleged. "I want a fair probe into my father's murder and if need arises, I will also approach the state chief minister and take up the matter with her," he said. |
