JKSRTC suffered Rs.35.38 Crore losses in two years | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 13: The government of Jammu and Kashmir in reply to CQ No 237 of a Congress MLC stated that the government run Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) suffered losses to the tune of Rs. 35.38 Crore during the year 2014-15 & 2015-16. As per the written reply given by Under Secretary to Government, Transport Department on behalf of Minister in charge transport, the income of JKSRTC during the year 2014-15 was 97.78 crores and the expenditure was 119.48 crores thus causes the losses to the tune of Rs. 21.70 crores. Similarly the income generated by the JKSRTC during financial year 2015-16 was 100.16 crores against the expenditure of Rs. 113.84 crores thus causes the losses to the tune of Rs. 13.68 crore which is less as compared to the financial year 2014-15, thus the total losses suffered by the JKSRTC during two years was Rs. 35.38 crores. In reply to another question of MLC whether the government intends to start new JKSRTC buses on Doda-Bhagwah road, Doda-Kastigarh road and Doda-Goha roads in Doda District, the government reply stated that as and when the new busses are inducted into JKSRTC fleet, the operation of the JKSRTC busses on these routes will be considered added that presently JKSRTC is operating about 40 vehicles in erstwhile District Doda. |
