Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 13: The government of Jammu and Kashmir today said that Maharaja Hari Park presently under construction on the bank of River Tawi will be completed by ending August 2016. In reply to C.Q No. 614 of MLC Ajatshatru Singh, who also happened to be the grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh, the ministry of PHE, I&FC Department in a written reply said that the Maharaja Hari Singh Park is being developed by the Jammu Development Authority, added that as reported by the Housing and Urban Development Department, a project amount to Rs. 320.53 lakhs for the development of the said park on the banks of River Tawi was taken up in the year 2008-09. As per government reply works on fencing of land, Entrance Gate, Jogger, Track, Walkways, etc were taken up at first instance at the cost of Rs. 73.86 Lakhs. In another question of MLA, regarding the status of the project as regards to availability of funds; the government reply stated the works of plantation, earth filling, landscaping, flower beds etc has been taken up at a cost o Rs. 75 lakhs and is in progress. In addition, designs or Coffee Shop cum Library cum Ladies Corner are under preparation and will be taken soon. The government assured that the work will be completed during the current financial year of 2016-17. |
