Early Times Report Kathua, June 13:- District administration woke up after ET highlighted problems facing by inmates of Nari Niketan Kathua in its edition of June 13. ET Team highlighted the problems being faced by inmates of Nari Niketan Kathua wherein students put out question on the functioning of Social welfare Department and alleged that despite of having proper funding allocated by state government, no requisite facility has been provided to them. They put out shortage of books, worse sanitary facility, medical, unhygienic kitchen , serve stale food items including vegetables, defunct mandatory electronic appliances, damaged building, broken door/window pane etc. District administration today woke up and DDC Kathua Ramesh Kumar constituted a committee of district officers of social welfare deptt, Health/educational, sports, PHE/PDD departments under the supervision of ADDC Kathua, Dr Manmohan Singh and instructed them to review the situation therein Nari niketan. A team rushed on the house and found genuine cry of the inmates wherein ADDC , on spot, instructed district level officers to provide requisite facilities to the inmates with immediate effect. While addressing media, ADDC Kathua Dr Manmohan Singh accepted the mal-functioning of Social Welfare department. He agreed with the sufferings of inmates due to unavailability of basic requirements like books, uniforms, Medical Facility, PHE/PDD supplies etc and ensured to facilitate the house within days. Inmates expressed gratitude of E T team Kathua to highlight their demands which have been redressed with speedy effect. |
