General Category people say 'no reservation in promotions' 6/13/2016 11:43:40 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, JUNE 13:General Category people staged protest and demanded "No Reservation in Promotions" from all parts of Kashmir Province including far off areas like Anantnag, Shopian, Bandipora, Budgam at Press Enclave Pratap Park Srinagar. The Jammu Kashmir General Category welfare forum an amalgam of various social organisations and sects fighting for the cause of general category people on the issue of Reservation on Economic Basis-A pre-requisite for inclusive development. The first initiative is its fight for implementation of "No reservation in Promotions". Speaking on the occasion Er.Daljeet Singh expressed serious concern and displeasure over the conduct of these MLAs who have been voted to power by all of us irrespective of caste, colour and creed and now their approach has become partisan as is evident from the fact that they are trying to bring amendments to overrule the justice delivered by Judicial system after thorough scrutiny of rules/ merits of case in vogue. Syed Altaf Andrabi Patron, JKGCWF on the occasion spoke about the grave injustice being meted out to general masses by way of providing caste based reservation, whereas the Reservation if at all needs to be provided must be on economic basis irrespective of caste, creed and colour. Reservation on Economic basis is a realistic solution for achieving the Goal of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi " Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas". The abolition of reservation in Promotions will go a long way in providing relief to general masses as Supreme court in Indira Sawhney case had stated that reservation in promotions is unconstitutional as once a person has been provided with job on basis of reservation then he ought to have been brought at par and giving him recurrent promotions on basis of caste defeats the purpose of merit and seniority. JKGCWF impressed upon general category people to intensify their agitation and come on roads if any move of political parties is against the general category masses and it will paralyse the whole system bringing it to standstill till justice bestowed by Judicial system is fully implemented.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
