| People stage protest against PHE | | | Early Times Report
Banihal, June 13 : Villagers of Bungam Chareel in Banihal toady staged a protest demonstration against the Public Health Department PHE on Jammu Srinagar highway for the shortage of drinking water in the area.
The angry villagers took protest on highway led by local Sarpanch and blocked the traffic for half an hour. They shouted slogans against the PHE department for not providing them proper drinking water in the holy month of Ramzan. Protesters alleged that despite of so many requests the PHE department is still fails to provide them drinking water which forced them to come on roads. Latter SDM Banihal, SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SHO Banihal rushed to the spot and assured the protesters that their genuine problem will be solved as soon as possible. After the assurance of tehsil administration, police and the officials of PHE department the protesters lift there protest and allow the traffic to move on highway.
Villagers said that during this holly month of Ramzan they get water from one kilometer away from the village for drinking and for general use. They said that the officials of the department are not taking serious this issue. They more said that DDC Ramban and other higher authorities have already gives directions to the officials of the different departments to provide electricity, water, rashan and other essential commodities to the people hassle free during the holly month of Ramdan but despite of orders the PHE employees of this area have deaf ears towards these orders and directions. |
