Jammu, June 21: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi, a Gujjar leader of J&K said that ban on reservation in promotion has been affected the communities come under reserved categories. Hakla said that communities in every sphere of life, reservation is the need of the hour and is a necessity. "In order to keep them with the employees belonging to backward communities their reservation for promotions is an essential requirement", he said. "Laying a specific stress on the matter, Shamsheer Hakla said the status of Schedule Tribe granted to the Gujjar and Bakarwal Community on April 19, 1991 by the Govt. Of India has completed 25 years where the Govt. has not been implementing it in letter and spirit to give full benefit of Schedule Tribe status for the Gujjar and Bakarwal Community", he added. "The Gujjar and Bakarwal Community of J&K is still socially, educationally, economically and politically lagging behind and backward", he said. He further expressed his resentment stating that the present BJP PDP Coalition Govt. has not taken any step for the revocation of the court decision. Shamsheer Hakla, Gujjar Leader in his statement added that the political parties are not sympathetic with the backward communities of J&K. Under him there could be no safety of the right of weaker sections of the state of J&K. |
