Srinagar, June 21Urging upon government to restore reservation in promotions, tribal community that staged a protest here in Press Enclave Tuesday said that if government did not fulfill their demand, they will stir an agitation across Jammu and Kashmir. The tribal and backward class people organized the protest under the banner of Tribal Welfare Forum and it was supported by Gujjar Bakarwal Conference, Ladakh Association and other reserve categories associations. The protesters urged upon the government to pass a bill during ongoing Assembly Session for the restoration of reservation in promotions and thus by doing justice with the reserved categories, which constitutes a good share of the state's population. The protesters expressed that if the government failed to fulfill their genuine demand of restoring the reservation in promotion, they will took to roads. "We appeal Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally look into the matter and restore the reservation in promotion by adopting the legal procedure during the ongoing Assembly session," General Secretary Tribal Welfare Forum Bijli Manzoor told. |
