Srinagar, June 21: After recording hottest night of the season when the minimum temperature surged and settled at 20.4 degree Celsius,weather turned pleasant in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir today, due to partly cloudy sky, accompanied by winds. A Met department, spokesman said here this afternoon that there is possibility of scattered rain in Kashmir valley. During the next 24 hours, there could be fairly widespread rain followed by isolated rain during the next three days in the valley, where people are observing holy month of Ramdan. There could be light rain and thundershowers and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 29 degrees and 17 degrees respectively during the next 24 hours in Srinagar. The minimum temperature in the city was 20.4 degrees, four notches above normal, highest of the summer so far. The maximum temperature yesterday in the city was 32.3 degrees, second hottest as 32.5 degrees was witnessed on June 15, when the minimum temperature was recorded at 18 degrees. However, partly cloudy sky, accompanied by winds, brought some relief turning the weather pleasant, though Sun was also coming out from behind the clouds. |
