Absenteeism of 'patwari' affecting normal works in Tehsil office: locals 6/21/2016 11:46:06 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, June 21:The role of patwaris (basic revenue officials) are of great significance in revenue department but some of these officials are often remained absent from their offices affecting the normal functioning of grass root level of Revenue department and similar cases of absenteeism allegedly taking toll of functioning of the routine works have been reported from Jib and Omara Morh localities. According to reports, locals of Omara Morh also have alleged that the work of concerned 'patwar halqa' is being affected as the concerned Patwari often was found absent from the office. And today the peoples of jib area alleged that village patwari often remains absent from his office and thus allegedly affecting the normal functioning of tehsil office. "Those who have applied for various revenue record documents to support their land or others revenue record while many students have applied for PRC but the alleged prolonged absent of Patrwari is affected their day to day works, said one Jaswant Singh. We have gone many times to office of the concerned for the issuance of necessary documents required for various scholarship schemes offered by various institutions but to our surprise we have to return disappointed as the concerned patwari is never found in his chair," some students alleged. People of the area said that we have urged to DC Udhampur to see the issue so that prevalent absenteeism may not hamper normal functioning of revenue office. When contacted, Tehsildar Head Quarters, he briefly said as he recently has assumed the charge and added that a due inquiry of the matters shall be initiated to prove the allegations of absenteeism.
