Jammu, July 2: The first annual general body meeting of J&K Panchayati Raj & Rural Areas Welfare Society (PARAS) was held under the Chairmanship of D.P. Khajuria.
As per press release, the Khajuria said that the aims of the society is to organize awareness camps and training programmes for the members of Panchayats field functionaries of Rural Development Department and the Civil society to apprise about all the schemes/programmes pertaining to rural areas being implemented by the Central and State Governments for upliftment of villages and the villagers.
This was deliberated in the meeting and decision taken to take-up planned programme in rural areas of all the Districts. The Election of new office bearers of the Governing Body of the Society was also held as per the provisions of bylaws and the following were declared elected DP Khajuria as President, MI Sadiq Sr. Vice President, R.K. Sharma and Smt Gurmeet Kour Vice Presidents, O.P. Gupta General Secretary, Sita Ram Sharma and Ashok Verma as organizing and Publicity Secretary, Om Ji Vaid as Treasurer and K.B. Maqotra, RC Puri, BN Pandita, RK Koul, Din Dyal Sharma, Jagdish Sharma, SPMengi, Mangat Ram Sharma, Manoj Kumar and Chaedhary, Roshan Lal were elected members of the Governing Body. |
