Srinagar July 2: Much to the disappointment of over 6 lakh unemployed youth of the state registered with different recruitment agencies possessing degrees of doctorates, M. Phil, M.Sc, B.SC, BA, related to various engineering and other technical education are being denied jobs by the government of Jammu and Kashmir either in government sector, semi government sector, public Undertakings or in private sector while at the same time influential persons with the backing of their political masters being , under Matric or Matric are being appointed in government run corporations including SIDCO, SICOP and JK Cements by flouting all the rules and regulations. The sensational revelations with regard to the backdoor appointments of blue eyed persons with under Matric or Matric as qualification surfaced recently in the Legislative Council. In a reply to CQ.No 100 of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLC the government accepted that 22 appointments have been made in various Corporations including J&K SICOP and JK Cements falling under the Administrative Control of Industries and Commerce Department during the past few months. While castigating the government, MLC claimed that over 100 persons were appointed in these departments by the previous government while 20 such appointments were also made by the current regime.
He took on the government for repeating the similar mistake by appointing the people through backdoor and urged the government particularly the Finance Minster to look into the matter and asked him to order immediate cancelation of all those appointments made in violation of rules and regulation through backdoor. Reacting to the allegations of MLC , Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu assured him and the house that government would investigate the matter added that whatever action as warranted would be initiated in terms of these backdoor appointments for which the member (MLC) will too be informed accordingly.
