Jammu, July 2: An alleged embezzlement of Rs 50 lacs has been surfaced, in Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha, as incharge president of the Sanstha withdrawn money without consulting apex body. According to sources, Sanjay Gandotra, was temporarily allowed to work as President, Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha, consequent upon resignation Sanjay Gupta, till such time as new president is elected by the central apex body. "But the acting president of the Sanstha, violating by-laws of the Sanstha had embezzled money of several lakhs", said an executive member of the Sanstha, adding that a president cannot spend more than Rs. 1000. "To meet normal expenses or Rs. 10,000, in view of urgent nature of work and that too with the approval/consent of apex body, but during his tenure since 01-04-2015 till date, he has spent about Rs. 50.00 lakh without the knowledge or approval of apex body", the member said. He further alleged that continuing disregard to Sanstha's rules/by-laws/senior office bearers of apex body, the temporary president purchased shops in Pacca Danga area, worth more than Rs 20 lakh without approval/consulting apex body. "Whereas, vide this office letter No. 75/S4/JK dated 01-10-2015 he was asked to give details of approved/ non-approved expenses to the apex body and also was given warning not to violate rule and by-laws of the sanstha", the sources said, and added that but Gandotra preferred to remain silent till date for the reasons best known to him. They further alleged Sanjay in utter violation of financial norms has procured more than one kanal of land at village Dhamni, an isolated place, without any habitant in two kilometer of its surrounding. When contacted, Sanjay Gandotra, the working president of the Sanstha, denying all allegations he said that some people are trying to defame us. "There are few people who indulged bad name for us", he said, and added, "as president of the organization, I will drag them into court of law. They had already appolosied in the court that they would not interfere in the functioning of the Sanstha". |
