Low Voltage irks Udhampur residents | | | Early times report Udhampur July 2: The low power voltage has left the residents of the various localities to simmer with resentment against the concerned Power Development Department which has allegedly adopted a casual approach to the problem of the people. Locals said people of several wards and villages across the district are irked over low voltage and unscheduled power curtailments for over a month in Udhampur district but the nodal Power Development Department (PDD) has shown least concerns over the poor plight of the people who are facing worst during hot and humid weather conditions. Locals alleged despite power curtailments the consumers are getting shocks die to inflate electricity bills when there is no power supply for hours together. Reports said that the residents of W-11 , Rount and Shiv Nagar have been facing the worst due to low voltage causing damage to their electrical appliances. A local resident Arun Kumar narrating his woes said most of the residents of area belong to lower middle class families who cannot afford personal transformers and inverters at home and thus the people are facing a a lot of problems especially the worst affected are students and old aged. Meanwhile the huge power fluctuation and the unscheduled power cuts has affected the normal life of people as this has given them a blow by damaging their electronic appliances. The locals have warned the administration to resolve the problem at earliest else they will be forced to take to the roads. Meantime XEn PDD R K Malla when contacted briefly assured that the problem will be resolved soon as the human resources are on the job and soon they get the thing rectified |
