Jammu, July 2: The second batch of 1,214 Amarnath pilgrims left for the holy cave shrine situated in the South of Himalayas from here today. "A fresh batch of 1214 pilgrims left early morning today from the Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas in a convoy of 33 vehicles amid rain," police said. They said that the pilgrims comprised of 837 males, 227 females, 143 sadhus, one Sadhvi and six transgenders. 33 vehicles, including seven LMVs and SRTC buses, carried the yatris to the Kashmir Valley. Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister had flagged off the first batch of pilgrims yesterday. |
