International racket of drugs busted, huge consignment of drugs meant for UAE recovered | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 3: The consignment recovered from the possession of four persons including two Kerala and two Rajouri based smugglers was meant for UAE, said police sources. Sources further said that during questioning the arrested disclosed that they have bought the consignment from Poonch district and the call detail records, frequent internet calls from Kuwait exposed that the super fine quality consignment was meant for UAE. Sources further claimed that one of the associates of arrested is absconding and manhunt to nab him is also on. During a press conference at SDPO North office, SP North Vinod Kumar under the operation Sanjeevani, team of Police Station City Jammu headed by Inspector Shakti Devi SHO Police Station City Jammu, under the Supervision of Vivek Shaker SDPO City North Jammu and Dr. Vinod Kumar SP City North Jammu, arrested four persons. The arrested have been identified as Mohd Farooq son of Alam Din of Serola Tehsil Manjakot Distt. Rajouri, Javed lqball son of Alam Din of Serola Tehsil Manjakot Distt. Rajouri, Nawaf Khan son of Nawab Khan of Vakkavil House Kanni Manglam District Palakkad Kerala and Mohd Ajmel Roshan son of Hanif of Keser Kot District Kesergod Kerala near Mansar Hotel Residency Road Jammu in the evening time and 3 Kg high quality Brown Sugar was recovered from the possession of above said persons. The value of recovered Brown Sugar as per the market rate is about 5 Crores in this regard a case under FIR No.52/2016 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station City Jammu and investigation entrusted to in-charge police post Residency Jammu. The consignment, which was brought from Pakistan was to be delivered in United Arab Emirate (UAE) when police nabbed the smuggler from city area. Earlier, police also busted an international racket of 5 drug peddlers and recovered 20 kg consignment of drugs meant for UAE. |
