Neeraj Badyal Early Times Report SAMBA, July 3: Commuters shuttling on the Samba to Babeti road have to face bumpy ride as the said road is in bad shape while the concerned department and district administration are in deep slumber. Residents of far flung villages situated along this route like Behri,Penthi, Talot,Sumb,kard,Goran,Babeti, Samotha are facing lot of problems due to the poor road connectivity. Villagers rue that the State government had totally failed to solve the issue of the people of remote villages. Locals lamented that they had raised the issue in front of present MLA and with the concerned authorities many a times and even have staged protest demanding the black-topping of road but all requests fell to deaf ears till date. They said that road stretch from Samba to Samotha is in utterly bad shape having potholes and streams of boulders but department concerned has remained indifferent for reasons better known to the officials at the helms of affairs. "It is only the election time when several of leader of different parties come to these remote villages and dole false assurances to the peoples but once they get elected they never return to them. The worse condition of this road can be gauged from the fact that its black topping has not been done for the last 15 years", said Naseeb Singh. Hundreds of people visit the famous shrine in this area namely Baba Shivo ,everyday to seek the blessings of Baba Goran. The shrine witnesses thousands of devotees thronging every Sunday and Tuesday but the condition of road discourages the devotees. "The MLA has been making only false promises to the people of these remote villages. Before three months MLA Samba assured to the people that funds were sanctioned for this road and the work would start within days, but after four months no work started", he added. |
