BJP-PK leaders fight it out in open
7/4/2016 12:25:32 AM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, July 3: An open war has started between Panun Kashmir (PK) an organization of displaced Kashmiri Pandits and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as former has accused the later that it has given up its principles by joining hands with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in formation of coalition government in the State.
The open war between the two organizations was witnessed during a function here yesterday which was organized by a cultural organization Vyeth in connection with observance of 4th death anniversary of former All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) president, veteran Kashmiri Pandit leader and a well known RSS ideologue Pt. Amarnath Vaishnavi at Abhinav Theater here.
The function was among others attended by the leaders of BJP, ASKPC, PK and other KP organizations.
The differences in the opinion and open war of words between the two organizations was witnessed after the PK convener Dr Agnishekhar accused BJP of surrendering its principles by joining hands with PDP and also harming the cause of KPs struggle of homeland.
He made many accusations against BJP during his speech saying that his organization stands by separate homeland for Pandits to which BJP is opposing. However some people from audience stood up to correct him saying that even late leader Mr Vaishnavi had never supported the homeland and was for total integration of J&K with India. For him entire J&K belongs to Pandits, they added.
They said PK was for disintegration of J&K and ASKPC fought for its total integration. Tampers ran high and even a woman artist also took PK to task for misleading the community by making catchy slogans only.
Later BJP leader and Organisation general secretary of the Party Ashok Kaul who was chief guest during the function took PK leadership to task saying they can't thrust their ideology on any one. BJP is a political organization and it is functioning as per its own policy programmes. PK can differ with its ideology and can have its own way of functioning, he added.
He said he knows the people who opposed Mr Vaishnavi more during his life time and described the alter leader a true Swayamsevak from his birth to death. He said unlike others Mr Vaishnavi did not change his ideology and loyalty to RSS and worked till his last breath to serve the society like a true Swayamsevak.
Kaul made it clear that BJP has not deviated from its principles and policies and some vested elements are spreading canards in this regard.
Basically the PK leaders were baffled by seeing two senior BJP leaders Ashok Kaul and senior vice president of the Party Moti Kaul on the dais. They tried to create a humiliating situation for them.
Later a senior artist passed some sarcastic remarks about the leadership and urged them to come on a single platform in case they really are interested in settling the problems of exiled people.
