KP Sabha condemns incidents of desecration of Shrines, temples 7/3/2016 11:58:38 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 3: K P Sabha Jammu condemned incidents of desecration of Shrines and temples in district Kulgam by antisocial elements who do not want the situation to normalise in the valley. According to press release, it stated that by indulging in such activities at the instance of militant and anti national elements they want to scuttle the efforts of the govt. to establish peace and normalcy in the strife torn state and cause a scare among the minority community so that their return and rehabilitation back in the valley is pushed to the backburner. The Sabha appealed the State and the central Govt. including the security agencies to take very stringent measures by bringing the culprits to book at once and thereafter provide adequate security to each and every Shrine and Temple in the valley so that there is no repetition of such incidents in future. The community has been fighting hard for the passage of the Temple and Shrines bill but successive Govts. have allowed the issue to drag on with the result that anti national elements and the land grabbers have been having a field day. The Sabha also appealed the central Govt. to place central security at all shrines till the passage of the bill to prevent further alienation of the sacred places. The establishment of the concentrated settlements should also be expedited so that the community can resettle in the valley and is in a position to take care of these places of worship effectively.
