Kishtwar, July 3: Chairman Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) District Kishtwar Joginder Bhandari has demanded Hill Development Council for Chenab Valley. In his statement Bhandari demanded formation of council analogous to Ladakh Hill Development Council. Bhandari said that the Chenab valley that forms one - third area of Jammu Province needs a separate council to make an end to the sufferings and miseries of the inhabitants. He has urged upon the Prime Minister as well as the Chief Minister J&K for declaring Chenab Valley a separate division to pave way for equitable and rationalized development for this remotest and backward area, besides separate funds to this valley. Bhandari further said that District Kishtwar is having large potential of power generating capacity of 10 thousand MW have been ignored in all developmental fronts by the MLA Kishtwar who happens to be the minister of State for Transport not fulfilling his election menefesto regarding starting of Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project , resumption of work on Rattle Hydroelectric Project, grant of GDC and ITI for Paddar, supply of water through tunelling, expidite work on Neighdh water supply scheme, free electricity, Saffron park, employment to women in Saffron Park, completion of Dachhan road, Gulabgarh Machail road, Atholi Pallali road on the basis of which the people of District Kishtwar caste their votes but unfortunately he failed to full fill his commitments which he had made with the people of Kishtwar during his election campaign. |
