| Carelessly placed electric transformers exposing human lives to fatal risks | | |  A B Sharma

Sunderbani, Oct 2: Insensitivity and apathy on part of the PDD authorities in Sunderbani tehsil have exposed the people to risk of fatal accidents as an electric transformer has been carelessly placed on the flour. This particular transformer, as per the people of the area is just adjacent to the new bus stand adjacent to small Tawi river and has turned into an open threat to humans and animals alike .
A poor shepherd recently lost his animals while he was taking them to adjoining rivulet for water and both the animals came in contact with the transformer lying on the ground.
The hapless shepherd has been moving from pillar to post for claiming the insurance for his dead animal as the post mortem report had confirmed the death due to cardiac arrest induced by electric shock.
The hapless shepherd Rattan Lal approached the Early Times with a charge that Power Department Development which is the main culprit in exposing the lives of the people to imminent threat by installing the transformers on the ground are making mockery of the people.
He said that since the post mortem report of his dead animal has established that the animal had died due to electric shock, he has appealed to the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, who holds the portfolio of power department to take the cognizance of the matter and address his issues. |
